TVET Teachers Training in Thailand provides a focused and policy-relevant portrait of the state of technical and vocational education and training teacher preparation in Thailand as of 2020, situating its analysis within the ambitious framework of the country’s 20-Year National Strategy 2018–2037 — a blueprint in which Human Capital Development and Strengthening occupies a central and non-negotiable role. The chapter argues that teacher capacity building is far more than an administrative priority; it is a foundational mechanism for driving educational reform toward a more humane and forward-looking development model, one capable of equipping learners with the complex, adaptive skills demanded by the twenty-first century economy and society. As Thailand navigates deepening structural transformations — technological disruption, demographic shifts, and growing demands for both digital and green competencies — the chapter makes the case that TVET teachers must evolve beyond traditional instructional roles to become facilitators of dynamic, industry-aligned learning experiences. By describing the current landscape of TVET teacher education and training, including its institutional structures, professional development pathways, and alignment with national reform imperatives, the chapter offers both a diagnostic baseline and a directional framework for policymakers, educators, and development partners committed to strengthening the human infrastructure of Thailand’s vocational education system.
