Skills for Sustainable Futures Initiative is hosted by Siam University in Bangkok, Thailand. Established and supported by the Graduate School of Business Administration and Graduate School of Education, the initiative serves as a platform advancing research, policy dialogue, and innovation to support inclusive digital and green transformation across tertiary education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) systems.
The initiative is led by Associate Professor Dr. Jomphong Mongkhonvanit, Vice President of Siam University, and is supported by a multidisciplinary team of senior advisors, early-career researchers, industry leaders, and institutional partners.

To position ASEAN as a leading region for developing inclusive and sustainable skills ecosystems that support the transition toward resilient, knowledge-based societies — where digital and green competencies are integrated, accessible, and responsive to the needs of all learners.
Our Mission
The Chair on Skills for Sustainable Futures is dedicated to:
- Generating and disseminating evidence-based knowledge on the digital–green skills nexus through interdisciplinary research, foresight analysis, and international collaboration
- Strengthening TVET and higher education systems across ASEAN to embed integrated digital and green competencies into curricula, teacher development, and institutional governance
- Promoting inclusive, gender-responsive, and lifelong learning opportunities for underserved populations — including women, youth, ageing workers, and persons with disabilities
- Facilitating North–South, South–South, and triangular cooperation to accelerate sustainable and equitable skills transformation
- Contributing to UNESCO’s Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) agenda, the UNESCO TVET Strategy 2022–2029, and UNESCO’s Recommendation on Open Educational Resources (OER)
